Alltså i ren jävla protest mot BIMBO-fjortisarna som intervjuades på TV4 Lördagsmorgon...... (angående sina tydligen välbesökta bloggar) skapade jag en med lite substans.. nej nej icke denna.. utan

(I TALK ABOUT WHAT I KNOW ABOUT!)
GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!

Isn´t it fascinating how you somehow always find something more interesting to do when you really should be studying?
Home exams sucks! Especially dodgy culture ones! Get a grip! There´s no right or wrong just words.. so I gotta sit here and do what we in Sweden call "WORD POOING" (ordbajsa!) and yeah sure sometimes it´s really easy to do so but right now.. its NOT! Aww!
I´m stuck!!!!! Frankly I just want my X-mas holiday now, coz I desperatly need it! The only things that keeps me alive is that Betty and I have DJ-sets on Thursday and Friday. Indie Lucia/BBS here we come! Looking forward to see Mon Roe live aswell.. other than that kiss my sweet baby butt filosophy!!

Band Of The Week: MGMT
Band of the Week:
MGMT
Yay! Brooklyn´s saviours are here!
The five-piece band MGMT pronounced "Management" started out with Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser who met at Wesleyan University in Middleton, Connecticut, where they both studied music. They started out doing covers of the Ghostbusters theme song then moved on doing more serious writing together.
The fellas got a major deal (signed to Colombia Records) and their debut album, Oracular Spectacular, (out january) is produced by Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann.
So what does MGMT sound like? Well "basically" it´s synth/space/rock/pop/country/surf-ish. The 70´s inspired psychadelic flowerpower video Electric Feel brings your thoughts to Jackson 5 with a touch of Klaxons...
Their influences: Early Rolling Stones and New Order on acid.
Songs You Gotta Hear:
x Time To Pretend
x Weekend Wars
x Electric Feel

Band of the Week: THE FAY WRAYS

Band of the Week:
The Fay Wrays
The London based band The Fay Wrays is WAH!! (wicked as hell!)
Actress turn singer does not usually turn out very well... In this case the turning point and quick trip to rehab seem to have done it! The model looking singer Lucie may be an exception and if that´s the case, she sure proved all of us wrong.
Their influences: A mix of Patti Smith, Velvet Underground and The Kinks.
There´s also a strong resemblance with Lucie´s brother Carl, yes they share the surname, Barât. If you like Dirty Pretty Things, you MOST CERTAINLY like The Fay Wrays.
The distinct base and guitar riffs and with lyrics like this one taken from War Cry, "You may call my a narcissist, but I just need to know that I exist...", how can you ever argue with that!?
Songs You Gotta Hear:
x War Cry
x Speed Of The Flight
x Poet Casanova

The New Union, Stockholm
Righty!
Since I´ve been asked to do this blog in English, by a huge fan of mine, I obviously can´t go on in Swedish. My grandpa always said: "Think large, Becka!". So I am, this is for all those people who never cared much about their Swedish-lessons! (Casper)
A WHOLE NEW START
Well The New Union was just ace!
Truly interesting to listen to the people in this industry, getting their point of view. Then again some were more upbeat than other.. no names said (live vs major)... Nice to see that so many people turned up, hope to see even more in Oslo!
Ok, so what about the bands?! Yay! Great - is the first word I can think of. Ok so I didn´t bare to see the metal/screamo-shit one but that´s simply not my personal taste in music. The other ones.. aww wicked!!!
Rockettothesky - very weird seeing a teeny tiny girl talking with a grown mans voice.. odd, but oh what a voice when she finally sang! Nice electro/synth beats.
Matias Tellez - bouncy, energetic adolescents! Extremely catchy songs that just made you wanna shake your boooooty! Cred to the cool drummer and the baseguitarist aka "Stoneface!"
The Cheaters - this is what proper Rock n Roll should sound (and look like = the singer) like! I liked it a lot! Great songs and guitar riffs made in heaven! The only thing you can do is to shout AAAAAAAOOH and throw yourself into the "there´s-no-stopping-this-dance-in-front-of-the-stage-like-I´m-watching-The-Beatles-live-in-the-60s"!
Superfamily - there´s definitely NO band out there right now who pulls off having their own "priest" aka Gospel-á la-Harlem and having Coastair-steward-uniforms dancing simultaneously aka Ok Go, on stage!! This is a band you HAVE to see live! Great tunes, though the performance is definitely what´s the most spectacular about this band!
Love, Peace and Understanding... Stella, Fags and Music?!
To be continued...
